Welcome to our first official Newsletter! As some of you may know, we are not like some of the other corporate run lead referral websites out there! Quotecity.com is owned and run by myself (Teresa) and my fiance Ken. We reside in New Jersey and mix building and running QuoteCity with our regular "Day Jobs". Ken owns and runs a Landscape construction business and I am employed as an IT professional in New York City. QuoteCity is a blend of both of our lives and an attempt to bring you the best possible home improvement lead service we can. Part of our commitment in helping you, will be to let you in on some of the tools, tips and tricks we use to help us manage our businesses and daily lives and in turn ask you to share with us some of the tricks you use with the rest us. In today's issue of "Whats in your ToolBox?" is an overview of one of the tools we use to keep ourselves sane and organized - a web-based online calendar called AirSet.com. Airset has been a life saver for both of us in helping us organize and keep our lives in order. With hectic schedules and Ken's A.D.D problem (or so he says) keeping track of meetings, estimates, personal engagments and general business goals can be a full time job. This FREE calendar lets us organize all of our appointments in one place. It lets us view all of our schedule items on one color coded calendar and even emails and/or text messages each day to remind us about the upcoming days schedule. For example: As a home improvement contractor, Ken has daily appointments with customers who need estimates. He also needs to keep track of his work schedule, and billing. To help him keep those appointments separate from his regular work schedule, he has a special color-coded calendar inside AirSet just for Customer Estimate Appointments. He also has a separate color-coded calendar for his work schdedule which helps him stay on top of his current projects and any upcoming work. Ken also uses Airset to track which work has been completed and which has already been billed. You set the categories you need and color code them to help identify them at a glance. Click here on the image to see a larger view a sample of Ken's AirSet calendar: This is a great tool for those of you are on-the-go most of the day and would like a quick way to reference your appointments from your phone or any computer - whether you are in your office, your home or the local starbucks. It's also great if you are traveling to your appointment and you forget the address -- well, guess what? You can quickly reference your text message OR you can call your assistant or anyone with access to the internet and they can look it up for you. What kind of tools do you use in your day-to-day activities that help you keep your sanity? ------------------------------------------ Stay tuned for more tools and tricks of the trade when running your own businesses!

Free online calendars are great! We've recently started using the new Google calendar to track our events and share our calendars with each other. |
