Wood shower panel By Luca

Form that follows function is one of designer Giacomo La Spina’s key beliefs. Fashionable design is fine – but pointless if the product does not work well – which is why Giacomo has put a lot of thought into ensuring that the new Aqvaplana shower panel ticks all the boxes for function, easy fitting and robust quality. Aqvaplana takes its inspiration from the world of yachting where sleek, polished wood fittings maintain their good looks despite the effects of wind and weather. It occurred to Giacamo that marine ply which is the material mainly used for yacht fittings could be used to create something truly original for the bathroom as the material is unaffected by steam and water. Sleek and uncluttered, the panel is a simple curved piece of wood available in Palissandro, Zebrano, Paduk, Wenge, Rovere and Ebano finishes. The panel comes complete with an overhead rose or with an overhead and a hand shower. In both versions the overhead and controls are fitted flush to the panel. The wet stick style hand shower is mounted on the side. The actual panel is 140cm from top to bottom, and is just 5cm deep – but fittings can’t be seen thanks to Giacomo’s clever Aquaconnect system that allows the panel to be fixed to existing 150mm wall points for hot and cold. Every product sold carries a silver plate bearing the AqvaDesign logo and a serial number. The panel is an ideal wet room product and looks good combined with a stone tray or floor and stone wall tiling. The slim profile means that the panel takes up very little space so it can be used in a restricted area. We are looking into installing this shower in our new beach house? Has anyone here had this done at their house? It would be interesting to hear from some owners...
Thanks
