5 Questions to ask the references
Following up on references is a critical step to take before comitting to any remodeling contractor or company.
So how do you judge the qulity of the listed references?
Here are a few questions to ask:
1. Why did you choose this residential contractor or remodeling company for your project?
2. Did the work meet your expectations?
3. Did this contractor meet all deadlines and keep the project within budget?
4. Can you schedule a time to see their completed project?
5. Would you hire this residential remodeling contractor again?
Don't feel that you are imposing on the listed references when asking direct questions or asking to see the work completed.
Remember that references are often biased in favor of the person you are considering, so take the time to find out if they reference is really credible.
Good reference follow up can give you both the peace of mind and reasonable assurance that you'll select the right individual or company for your next home improvement project!
