First off -- there are 2 kinds of cleaning professionals.
1. Independent 2. Agency Affiliated / Maid Service Professionals
While independent house cleaning service providers are more flexible and may do additional house cleaning chores such as laundry and dishes, you do need to take the time and check their background, references and credit score.
They are usually not pre-screened and you do want to hire someone trustworthy who will be diligent with all your house cleaning projects.
When interviewing your potential house cleaner, ask about any training or special experience they might have - especially if you have tasks that may require special care.
Another point to keep in mind you will have to file tax forms as an employer.
As for insurance, you may be already covered under your homeowners's policy for any accidents that happen work time but you should check anyway.
Either indie or agency, sit down and chat with your candidate about the tasks you need done and negotiate how often your maid will come and how much you will pay. Also make sure the person you hire is the one who will always come to your house.
The best advice as always to hire someone who is recommended, so post your maid service project in our network and benefit from our entire community.
